SUPlove & Chocolates for Valentines Day

Seriously, there is a board company called SUPlove and they're really busy around Valentines day. We have 3 of their boards in stock - very cool custom traction pads, and colors. If you're buying a board for your Valentine we'll include some chocolates - courtesy of Cocoa Michelle in Saugatuck (gourmet goodies).

In addition to boards, we have kayaks, and of course all the cool goods you'd associate with a surf shop - clothing, footwear, accessories including Maui Jim sunnies and Ella Vickers sailcloth bags, and toys such as the Tiki Toss and GO Pro cameras.

COR blimey, check it out... We are super excited to announce that Downunder has a patent pending on it's Paddle Fitness Board! We're calling it "COR", which has a double meaning - it's a 'core' workout, and 'cor' is a 'downunder' exclamation, as in 'Cor, look at that!' The board is used in our indoor fitness programs along with a bosu ball and body bar to simulate stand-up paddling, improve balance, stability, and coordination. We're now working on a fitness video to accompany it so you can do it at home, when you can't get to a class. And we're marketing the whole program to fitness establishments. Email us for more info.

Paddlepalooza has now been to Norwalk CT, New York, and Atlantic City NJ.  The new COR board and program received amazing response!

About us...

Hi, I'm Kim Beaumont, owner of Downunder Kayaking.

Raised in New Zealand, I LOVE the water and having a good time. 'Downunder' brings both together through stand up paddle boarding (SUP)and kayak rentals, programs, classes, and parties operating out of a quintessential 'surf shop'. It's the only operation of it's kind in CT, with two locations on flat water rivers that lead out to Long Island Sound.

The Downunder experience is like our lifestyle - laid back and no worries! In true Aussie and Kiwi (New Zealand) fashion, we'll treat you like family with personalized attention that ensures you get the experience you want. Well help you plan your outing based on tides, weather, experience and any special needs. If you're bringing the kids along, we'll be sure to include some toys and suggestions to help keep them entertained. Guides are available if you want to know a little more about the area, have special needs, or just want to relax and know that someone else has everything under control (and they LOVE kids). We give you basic instruction - all you need to 'give it a go', and offer more in-depth instruction throughclasses or private instruction. We take pride in educating our clients and making sure they are totally comfortable before sending them off on their water adventure.

If you're looking for more of a challenge - we've got you covered with personal fitness training, yoga by kayak to a beach, or on the paddle boards. We have a race program for SUPers with regular events to challenge yourself and satisfy that competitive spirit. SUP programs and combo programs for all ages, and groups. We offer parties and summer programs foryoung kids, teensand adults. Corporate events with team building elements (or just a good time...). And in Westport, you can event rent the store for special occasions, with or without paddling activities. Westport is open year round, and Rowayton seasonally.

Our job is to make you happy, and we believe we do our job - really well.
